1. Effects of Estraceptin
Estraceptin is a birth control pill, used in daily doses for women. Each Estraceptin tablet contains the following ingredients:
White hormone containing pills: 0.15mg Desogestrel, 0.02mg Ethinylestradiol and other excipients.
The green tablet (placebo) contains just enough excipients for 1 tablet; Yellow tablet contains: 0.01mg Ethinylestradiol and other excipients. The combination of a synthetic estrogen (Ethinylestradiol) with a synthetic progesterone (Desogestrel) works to prevent the hypothalamus – pituitary gland from secreting gonadotropic hormone (GnRH), thereby preventing pregnancy.
In addition, the drug also makes the endometrium slow to proliferate, preventing eggs from implanting after fertilization. At the same time, it also changes the cervical mucus layer so that it is difficult for sperm to meet the egg.
